This is my personal blog, where I discuss various things of personal interest and document general life happenings. In general, the two questions I like to ask are the following:

• Why are things the way they are?
• Can we make things better? (Implicitly: What does it mean to make things better?)

I am especially fascinated by emergent phenomena that are most visible at large scale but best reasoned about at small scale. Examples include macroeconomics, biochemistry, graph algorithms + distributed systems theory, stochastic processes, and sociology.
